Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic bids and tenders from early opportunity assessment through to final submission and presentation
  • Define and maintain pursuit strategy, translating stakeholder input into clear, compelling messaging and structure
  • Coordinate and guide contributions to ensure submissions are accurate, complete, and aligned to client priorities
  • Act as a credible senior influence
  • Manage competing priorities, risks, and timelines while maintaining momentum across multiple opportunities
  • Provide deputy support to the Head of Pursuits, including representing the function in senior discussions
  • Coach and guide others through practical feedback, training support, and day-to-day mentoring
  • Drive continuous improvement by proposing ways to strengthen processes and increase submission quality

Person Specification

  • Proven experience leading complex bids, strategic proposals, or high-stakes pursuits at a senior level
  • Strong judgement, curiosity, and the ability to translate detailed information into client-focused narratives
  • Confident communication skills, including turning varied inputs into a coherent final submission
  • Excellent organisational ability with the capacity to manage multiple opportunities under time pressure
  • Collaborative working style, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders
  • Strong risk and prioritisation awareness, ensuring clarity and momentum throughout the pursuit lifecycle
  • Experience coaching, developing, or supporting others (beneficial)
