This pivotal role involves developing and executing impactful public affairs strategies, strengthening relationships with policymakers, and shaping industry dialogue to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
 
This is a truly exciting opportunity for a Senior Public Affairs Manager who is excited to shape and develop the corporate affairs function of this growing organisation - they are looking to be at the forefront of creating change in the property sector, improving processes and opening up opportunities for people to get on the property ladder. You'll have the gravitas required to shape the narrative and communicate the need for change to policymakers and industry groups. Previous experience in the property or real estate space is imperative.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the organisation’s public affairs and advocacy strategy, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Provide strategic insight and analysis on political, legislative, and regulatory developments affecting the property and financial services sectors.
  • Cultivate and maintain influential relationships with policymakers, government officials, trade bodies, and industry think tanks.
  • Support senior leadership in external policy engagement, including consultations, committee hearings, and industry forums.
  • Manage responses to government consultations, ensuring messaging clarity and consistency.
  • Plan and deliver campaigns that highlight the organisation’s perspectives on key industry issues and demonstrate thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and internal teams to ensure cohesive messaging and policy alignment across communications and legal departments.
  • Prepare briefs, stakeholder engagement materials, and media opportunities for leadership teams.
  • Promote understanding of the political and regulatory environment internally, embedding public affairs awareness within the organisation.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform ongoing strategies.
  • Regularly update the Executive Team on policy developments, risks, and stakeholder insights.
 
Experience required
  • Proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy roles within the property or real estate sectors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with policymakers, industry groups, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills to interpret political and legislative trends.
  • Ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work across functions including communications, legal, and risk management teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and adapt to an evolving policy landscape.
