This pivotal position involves managing strategic bids and shaping opportunities to drive growth and success within a prominent law firm. The role offers the chance to influence high-impact pursuits and enhance win strategies across the firm’s portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large, complex tenders and strategic pursuits, influencing stakeholders and improving win rates.
- Support the development of capture strategies and pipeline opportunities, ensuring early positioning and pursuit planning.
- Assess and qualify opportunities, applying go/no-go approaches aligned with commercial goals.
- Utilise pursuit tools for analysis, competitor insights, stakeholder mapping, and engagement planning.
- Drive progress from initial capture to final proposal and presentation.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure pursuit activities are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and responsible business units, for comprehensive pursuit strategies.
- Draft persuasive non-technical content for bids, aiming to secure high scores within public sector submission environments.
- Coach and support teams in delivering impactful pitches and presentations.
- Lead post-pursuit debriefs, capturing lessons learned to refine future strategies.
- Drive continuous improvements in pursuit processes, tools, and team efficiencies.
- Actively mentor colleagues and contribute to wider marketing and business development initiatives.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in managing large-scale bids or pursuits within professional services.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong project management capabilities with a systematic and organised approach.
- Confident in developing compelling, high-quality content and positioning messages effectively.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work under tight deadlines.
- Curious, adaptable, and proactive in learning new pursuit techniques and industry best practices.
