Talent Frame are pleased to be working with a US Firm to hire a BD Manager working within their M&A and Private Equity practice. The successful candidate will lead strategic business development initiatives, support practice growth, and enhance marketing efforts within the firm’s dynamic legal environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate business development, marketing, and client targeting activities for designated practice areas, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop and execute strategic growth plans, identify new business opportunities, and increase visibility.
  • Support lawyers with new business pursuits, including briefing, research, proposal writing, and pitch presentation preparation.
  • Identify and promote visibility initiatives such as conference sponsorships, client presentations, digital campaigns, and events.
  • Oversee lead generation processes, contributing to the growth of the client base and revenue streams.
  • Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage practice marketing materials, including brochures, experience lists, biographies, and pitch decks.
  • Oversee league table submissions, analyse rankings, and optimise visibility strategies.
  • Maintain databases related to proposals, pitches, and practice information, tracking progress and managing documentation.

Person specification

  • Extensive experience (6+ years) in business development and marketing, preferably within a professional or legal services environment.
  • Proven track record supporting corporate or legal practice areas with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, capable of juggling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player who promotes productivity, accountability, and a positive working environment.
  • High attention to detail, with a pride in producing accurate and polished materials.
  • Self-motivated, discreet, and able to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Ability to articulate strategic initiatives clearly and practically, with curiosity and resourcefulness.

Salary: £80-90,000
