Talent Frame are excited to be working with a national Law Firm to hire a Business Development Manager for a 6 month contract to start ASAP. This role can be based in either Manchester, Birmingham or London with hybrid working. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead growth initiatives within a high-profile law firm’s Commercial division, playing a key role in driving client engagement, strategic planning, and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with division leadership to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the Commercial division.
  • Conduct sector and market research to support strategic business planning and unconcealed opportunities.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients, referral networks, industry bodies, and other stakeholders to identify cross-selling and partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to bid responses, pursuit strategies, and client relationship activities to support business growth.
  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns including thought leadership, seminars, round tables, and event sponsorship to enhance division visibility.
  • Collaborate with Market Insights, PR, and Communications teams to produce compelling content, press releases, and external communications.
  • Assist in developing directory and award submissions to showcase the division’s expertise.
  • Share sector updates internally and foster cross-team collaboration on initiatives.
  • Support junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
  • Provide regular BI and MI reporting to inform strategic decisions and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects aligned with division growth targets.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in business development and marketing within a professional services or legal environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the legal sector is advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate industry trends into actionable opportunities.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills to connect internal and external stakeholders.
  • Persuasive communicator with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Proactive approach with a solutions-driven mindset and strong project management skills.
  • Skilled content writer with the ability to produce clear, impactful marketing copy.
  • Analytical thinker capable of synthesising data into high-level insights.
  • Effective stakeholder management with a collaborative working style.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
